Uncover/Recover will be livestreamed from The Glass Room at the Royal Ontario Museum to CCS 142 on the UBCO campus on Thursday July 26th 2018 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
In 2017, the Province of Ontario invited art and design students from the Indigenous Visual Culture program at OCAD University to interact with and activate Indigenous cultural objects in the Royal Ontario Museum. The goal - to promote dialogue and exchange between the objects, Indigenous peoples, and the Museum. The resulting web-based project, accessible to Ontarians across the province gives voice through the objects to our histories, contemporary circumstances, and potential futures.
See the results of this unique exchange as we launch Uncover/Recover. Hear a panel of Indigenous scholars, artists, and a senior curator from the ROM respond to the project, its impact, and its role in uncovering and recovering Indigenous links to our culture and our path forward.
